OUR LECTURER

We would like to thank our lecturer, Associate Prof. Dr. Ilham Sentosa Anwar Malik for helping and guiding us throughout the whole process of this whole case study named "Metaverse: Research on User Acceptance of Metaverse Based on the Technology Acceptance Model and Planned Behaviours"

INTRODUCTION

Technology has been advancing at an accelerated rate for many years, and blockchain technology is an example of such technology. Metaverse technology enables the visuality to reach its customers in 3D and no need for a centralized authority to mediate interactions between users. The current study studied the opinions and intentions of potential users of metaverse technology, using the Planned Behavior Theory (PBT) and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The research focused on the desire to use rather than actual usage due to the low number of active users of metaverse systems.

Research Objective:

1. To enhance user experience interact with virtual environments and other users in a way that feels more natural and lifelike.

2. To increase accessibility by providing equal opportunities for participation and engagement.

3. To expand possibilities so that individuals and businesses can explore innovative ways to connect, create, and engage with others.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

In conclusion, the purpose of this research was to show that user acceptance of Metaverse has been identified as a key factor in determining technology acceptance. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) are two well-known frameworks that have been used to study user behavior relating to technology acceptance. Based on the data gathered, both TAM and TPB have shown that user acceptance of Metaverse would greatly impact technology acceptance.

According to the results, users have shown a positive attitude toward Metaverse and its potential applications. This suggests that the Metaverse has the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with technology. All the hypotheses generated were accepted, as the results demonstrated a high level of relevance between the variables tested. The research findings provide valuable insights for technology developers and decision-makers. By understanding the user acceptance of Metaverse, the design, and development of technology can be tailored to user needs, which is crucial to ensure adoption. Additionally, the results of this research demonstrate the importance of innovative technologies and the potential impact they can have on our behavior.

Regarding the influence of user acceptance of Metaverse on technology acceptance, scholars have turned to frameworks such as the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). These models have been widely used in technology acceptance research due to their ability to predict user behavior. TAM posits that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are the two major factors that determine user acceptance of technology. On the other hand, TPB emphasizes that attitude, perceived behavioral control, and subjective norms are determinants of user intention to use technology. Based on data gathered from these models, it is evident that user acceptance of Metaverse would have a significant impact on technology acceptance. The research findings revealed that users had a positive attitude towards Metaverse and believed it has significant potential applications. The results of the study also demonstrate that the variables tested were highly relevant, as all of the hypotheses generated were accepted.

It is important to note that the positive attitude of users towards Metaverse does not necessarily imply that there are no concerns or potential risks associated. Some scholars have raised concerns about the ethical implications of Metaverse, such as the potential impact on privacy, virtual addiction, and lack of face-to-face interactions. Thus, it is essential to continue studying these potential risks and develop guidelines for responsible usage of Metaverse to mitigate any negative consequences. The research findings provide essential insights for technology developers and decision-makers. By understanding the user acceptance of Metaverse, the design, and development of technology can be tailored to user needs to ensure adoption. Additionally, the results of this research demonstrate the importance of innovative technologies and the potential impact they can have on our behavior.

In conclusion, the user acceptance of Metaverse has a significant impact on technology acceptance. The research findings highlight the potential of Metaverse to revolutionize the way we interact with technology and provide valuable insights for technology developers. As Metaverse continues to develop, it is essential to ensure that responsible usage guidelines are developed and that potential risks are addressed.
